Happy New Year

Everyone is at my gym.

I guess the New Year’s Resolutions are kicking in. So, for the next two weeks, I expect it to be pretty crowded.

But after that, things should get back to normal.

That’s how we approach a lot of goals, dreams, and resolutions: we think big, take the leap, and then figure out that’s not sustainable. We overestimate what we can do in a day and underestimate what we can do in a year.

For today, for this year, consider just taking a look at your habits, and pick one to work on. In the next 90 days, you can make great progress in your health, finances, relationships. You could have a very rough draft of a couple of chapters of a book. You could have paid a little on some debt or saved up some money.

Change doesn’t happen overnight, but with enough time and some effort on the things we do every day—our daily habits—we can make a change.

Have a happy New Year, and remember it’s just important to get started!
